Conference Venue
The conference takes place in the precints of University of Turku. There is an navigable online Campus map , which you can use to find out the exact locations of the venues described below. The map is only in Finnish, but the references to the individual locations include a code which can be used to find the right building.
Location of the Venue
The campus of the University of Turku is a walking distance from the city centre, but can also be easily reached by bus. To see the location of the venues in the city, please consult the downloadable ISCH2010 annual conference Map, which you can also print for yourself to carry around. It will also be included in the delegates pack.
The University of Turku Main Building (only Wed. 26th)
The opening ceremonies and as the reception on Wednesday evening take place in the University Main Building (1 on the conference map; T1 "Päärakennus" on the map). The main entrance to the building is from the NW side, from the square between the Main Building and the University Library (T2 "Pääkirjasto" on the campus map).
There is a cafeteria in the "pipe" that connects this building with the next one, on the second floor.
Sirkkala Campus (Throughout the conference)
The sessions will take place in the seminar rooms at the Sirkkala Campus, old military headquarters recently renovated for the university. This is the location 3 on the conference map, and T53 "Historian laitoksen opetustiloja" on the campus map. The main entrance is from the courtyard, and the street address is Kaivokatu 12. In the basement, there is a lunch restaurant that also serves coffee ("Turun Upseerikerho", Turku Officers Club).
Afternoon coffee break takes place in the restaurant in the basement of the Minerva building.

ICT building (Thursday to Saturday)
The plenary speeches and the common lunch take place in the ICT building, marked with 2 on the conference map and as T54 "ICT-talo" on the campus map. The street address is Joukahaisenkatu 3–5. As the building is quite large it is advisable to be in time when attending the plenary sessions here for the first time.
Conference lunches and morning coffeebreaks take place at the mensa in the ICT Building.
Other sites
Turku City Hall
The reception at the city of Turku on Thursday evening takes place at the City Hall, which lies by the river at the point where Aurakatu crosses the river. It is marked on the Conference map with 4, and its address is Aurakatu 2. The entrance is from the side of the small park & parking lot.
The Turku VPK House ("Turku Volunteer Fire Department House")
The Turku Volunteer Fire Department House hosts the conference gala dinner Saturday night. it is situated in the corner of Eerikinkatu and Eskelinkatu, five minutes walk from the Market Square, and it is marked on the conference map with 5. The street address is Eskelinkatu 5, and the entrance is from the Eskelinkatu side.
